Scouts are required to have Class A and Class B uniforms. Class B uniforms consist of a Troop-approved tee-shirt and are distributed by the troop throughout the scouting year. These differ from troop to troop. See Mr. Pearl or the current Senior Patrol Leader for a Class B uniform shirt.

Note that Troop 76 does not require our scouts to purchase/wear a scout hat. We will give you a Scout Handbook and our troop’s neckerchief and slide, so no need to purchase those. 

Before you purchase anything, you might wish to visit our bin of donated uniforms. We have a lot of shirts and pants in great condition, since scouts grow quickly! The Senior Patrol Leader, any Assistant Scoutmaster, and the Scoutmaster can direct you to the QM, where we store our gear, at a Tuesday night meeting. Inside the handbook is a helpful guide to patch placement. You are welcome to apply the patches yourself. Some local tailors are also familiar with patch placement and will happily do it, as will the staff at the Milford Scout Shop. Some of the patches stay on the uniform throughout the scouting career. Others, such as the rank advancement patch (which your scout will earn soon) and any patch that denotes a leadership position, will be changed, so it is best not to adhere those permanently.

Scouts wear Class A uniforms to weekly meetings but your scout is welcome to attend as soon as he is available, whether he has a uniform or not.

We encourage wearing full Class A uniform to all Boards of Review and Courts of Honor. Full Class A uniform is required for Eagle Boards of Review.
