This scouting year, we are reinstating the community service requirement that Troop 76 required in the past. Scouts must perform six hours per term, two hours which can be activities outside the troop that must be approved in advance by the SM. The remaining four hours must be part of Troop sponsored service. We also strongly encourage adults to attend at least one of the Troop sponsored service projects.

It's each scout's responsibility to submit their completed community service hours. The troop will not be following up with each scout about service hours. Please send your completed service hours to Ms. Olsen (janine.olsen@gmail.com) and copy at least one of your parents in the message. As a reminder, any community service project outside troop-sponsored events must first be approved by Scoutmaster Pearl. When submitting service hours, troop and non-troop, please provide the event name, date, time, and amount of hours.

Why join Boy Scouts?

Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes and, through nearly a century of experience, understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

Scouting, with programs for young men and women, helps meet these six essential needs of the young people growing up in our society:

Mentoring
Lifelong Learning
Faith Traditions
Serving Others
Healthy Living
Building Character
